What differentiates Alteryx from other similar products?

Cloud-based service with great web UI that has all necessary features to preprocess data effectively.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The fact that it is cloud-based, that it has a great UI to analyse and preprocess data, and that you can create re-usable recipes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Trifacta is really poor when it comes to date and datetime processing (recognising formats, chaging formats etc.). The date format syntax is highly counter-intuitive, proprietary, and inconsistent (e.g. to simply check if a datetime is properly ISO formatted: ISMISMATCHED(column, ['Datetime','yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss','yyyy*mm*dd*HH:MM:SS']) - whereas if you want to convert into ISO format, you have to use 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss'). To make things worse, what you see is often not what you get, in the sense that if the UI seems to recognise a date correctly, you may find out that in fact it didn't and your date column in the output just consists of NULL

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Hands off if you have to wrangle datetime data types, otherwise highly recommended.

What differentiates Alteryx from other similar products?

It’s integration with google cloud and seamless data transfer differentiates trifecta from similar products

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The user interface is my favorite aspect of this product. It’s easy to use and train junior resources.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The product does not auto save work effectively. There have been numerous times when our work has been lost due to bugs in saving files. That’s my biggest pain point about the product

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For an entry level data analysts who currently are being introduced to data wrangling, trifecta is an excellent tool for training new hires. The magnitude at which the tool can be used is also beyond entry level, feel free to explore the tool and drive the best performance out of the platform.
