Powerful but Requires Careful Handling
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Amazon EC2 from other similar products?
What makes Amazon EC2 stand out is its flexibility and control. You can pretty much build your server exactly the way you want, scale it up or down anytime, and only pay for what you use. It gives you the kind of power that feels like you're running your own data center—without actually having one.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
What I really like about Amazon EC2 is the freedom to customize everything. Whether I need a small test server or a high-performance machine, I can spin it up in minutes. That level of control, paired with the global reach, makes it feel like I can run anything, anywhere.
What do you dislike most about this product?
What I dislike most about Amazon EC2 is that the pricing structure can be overwhelming, especially for newcomers. There are so many options and variables—if you’re not careful, it’s easy to rack up unexpected costs. A simpler, more transparent billing system would go a long way.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're planning to use Amazon EC2, start small and take time to learn the pricing and instance types. It’s incredibly powerful, but you’ll get the best out of it when you understand how to balance performance and cost. Use the AWS calculator—it helps more than you think!
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
- Trustworthy

EC2: Super Flexible, But Watch Out for Hidden Cost
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Amazon EC2 from other similar products?
EC2 lets you spin up virtual servers in seconds and scale them up/down based on demand. No other cloud provider makes it this easy. Plus, you only pay for what you use. It’s best for devs and businesses that need flexible, reliable hosting without managing physical hardware.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Spot Instances! They let me run workloads for up to 90% cheaper if I’m okay with them being interrupted. I use them for batch processing and testing this saves me hundreds a month.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The pricing is confusing as hell. Between instance types, regions, and add-ons, my bill sometimes feels like a mystery until it arrives. Also, support is slow unless you pay extra.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Perfect if you need scalable servers fast, but avoid it if you hate managing infra or have a tight budget (hidden costs add up). Try Lightsail if you just need simple hosting.
