I feel AWS's main differentiator is its ongoing webinars and office meetups and workshops, which help IT professionals get more from their infrastructure.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Constantly improving and adding new services at reasonable costs.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Many services are proprietary which results in strong long-term vendor lock when using those services.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

What differentiates Amazon EC2 from other similar products?

Amazon EC2 provides yearly a single virtual machine for free which can be used for testing your website or application hosting before you decide to pay for using EC2 with full configurations. The interface is very user friendly and intuitive, with many demo videos available for how to migrate your website or application to EC2 without any hassle.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Favorite aspect of EC2 is the several options of vendors and applications available to choose from for virtual machine hardware and configuration you would like to use for your business case scenario. Most of the famous vendors like Intel and AMD are available with several different combinations of CPU and RAM which you can select according to your traffic.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The free EC2 machine available is of very low configuration which is not able to cater for heavy traffic, it would have been really convenient if AWS offered a one year free subscription of at least 4 core/8gb RAM VM configuration so that users can test their application or website with real traffic data before deciding to migrate to AWS.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are using different hosting solutions for your different websites or applications, you need to seriously consider migrating all of your business traffic to AWS EC2. Migration is very simple and you can always refer to the free demo videos available on Youtube or AWS Training website as well as hundreds of forums available dedicated to providing support for AWS services.
