What is AutoCAD?

AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) software that is used for precise 2D and 3D drafting, design, and modeling with solids, surfaces, mesh objects, documentation features, and more. It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity such as comparing drawings, counting, adding objects, and creating tables. It also comes with seven industry-specific toolsets for electrical design, plant design, architecture layout drawings, mechanical design, 3D mapping, adding scanned images, and converting raster images. What differentiates AutoCAD from other similar products?

1) Skilled Manpower availability which is conversant with the software 2) Typically no software stands in close competition

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Vast range of features

What do you dislike most about this product?

1) AutoCAD is not great with 3D modelling, moreover whatever is there, it's difficult. Better software are available for 3D modeling 2) Customizing/Altering an Existing Design/Drawing takes efforts as high as making a new one 3) Takes lot of effort in learning & understanding. It should be made easier 4) Most of the things are dependent on the User. Software's own capabilities to Automate things are very limited

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For 2D AutoCAD is great. GO ahead without any thoughts For 3D...do a thorough research

The software facilitates effective communication within our team, enabling collaborative work with each member contributing their expertise. Moreover, proficiency in AutoCAD opens opportunities for individuals to earn by creating and selling designs. The variety of drafting tools, user-friendly interface, layer creation, and editing options make AutoCAD widely used in many industries for drawing preparation.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It may not be the best choice for beginners, as its complexity and the need for memorizing shortcuts and system requirements can be challenging. Proper training and education are crucial for effective use.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

While it excels in 2D drafting and creating drawing deliverables for various clients, it may not be the most suitable option for intricate 3D modeling tasks, where more specialized software may be preferred. I also find it essential for precise site plans, including layouts for buildings, roads, and utility systems.

What do you dislike most about this product?

AutoCAD requires a high-performance computer system and a stable internet connection, which may not be available or affordable for everyone.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Try the free trial version of AutoCAD for 30 days, which gives you full access to all the features and toolsets of the software. You can also use the AutoCAD web app, which allows you to work on your projects online, without installing anything on your computer
