What differentiates Cisco Secure Firewall from other similar products?
What best concerning the Cisco ASA line is that it’s not simply a router or a switch, it is a wonderful firewall for your network, very economical and safer even than the well-known IP tables because it is a tool developed for this purpose it becomes additional efficient and secure than a server with many services and any firewall.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I favor the cisco firepower software system suite that works with the ASA we have. This software extremely provides a smart GUI illustration of your security controls and the reporting is excellent. IDS and IPS are inbuilt as well.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Extremely there isn’t any specific issue that I dislike. However in this product, is very vital to own the support up to date, so you’ll have access to the updated security signatures list. Like all of Cisco ASA, some stuff is extremely exhausting to do within the CLI, it’s like Cisco wants us to use the web app. In ASA was a bit hard, in firepower you have got to do it via HTTP.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The appliance was simple to install. It offers tons of choices to configure the appliance according to your actual need. It’s additionally terribly easy to upgrade and their technical support is awesome. We had queries once we installed the appliance and contacted their support. They not solely answered our question but went further and give us sensible configuration recommendations on our existing installation.
Pros
- Performance Enhancing
- Trustworthy
- Unique Features

What differentiates Cisco Secure Firewall from other similar products?
Meraki is a well thought out simple to manage platform but does have some basic feature gaps, which would be nice and on occasion important to have (simple to manage with good feature set). The ASA covers the full gambit of features especially when mated with the FirePower subscription to bring threat management to the fore (complex to manage but has a deep feature set).
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Meraki has a single pane of glass management tool - the Dashboard. The ASA has an intuitive DM, but when converted to new FTD code the HTML5 interface is much more fluid and user friendly.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The previous user interface and over reliance on Java, made ASA management somewhat tricky. The HTML5 interface removes that headache.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Meraki is your platform for Cloud managed infrastructure and simple solutions. ASA is your platform for granular control and deep visibility.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
Cons
- Vendor's Interest First
