What differentiates Fortinet Fortigate NGFW from other similar products?

The available community support and knowledgebase and well documented help is what differentiates this product.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like the UI of this product. I also like the ability to manage via CLI and its easy to learn help base available.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The migration from older devices to newer ones can become a cumbersome task and also a bit pricey.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Services of Fortinet are delivered via Partners of Fortinet and choosing the right partner is critical as many new technologies like ZTNA, SDWAN, Deep Packet inspection require a good knowledge of technology that runs behind security. A good partner can help you integrate the product well with your existing IT Infrastructure and help you attain your goals with ease.

Additionally, the excellent partner network and support capabilities, combined with a dedicated TAC team, further enhance the overall experience and ensure efficient security operations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I appreciate Fortinet NGFW for its robust and advanced security features, high-performance hardware, and ease of management. The versatility and scalability of the product, along with its comprehensive threat intel, should be highlighted too. From a Technical aspect, The easy integration of various security functionalities, like as firewall, VPN, and intrusion prevention, CFS, NAC are also a favorite mention for Fortigate UTMs. The reporting and analytics features further enhances visibility and enables proactive security monitoring and incident response.

What do you dislike most about this product?

In certain networks, I found the initial setup and configuration process can be complex and time-consuming. Additionally, the user interface could be more user-friendly, requiring a learning curve for new technical professionals.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
