What differentiates Google Authenticator from other similar products?
Google Authenticator does not require a Google account to function, which means it works entirely offline. Google Authenticator has recently introduced a QR-based device-to-device transfer feature.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Unlike competitors that default to cloud backups, Google Authenticator keeps everything local to the device unless manually transferred, giving more privacy-conscious users a layer of security against potential cloud breaches
What do you dislike most about this product?
The burden is on the user to manually transfer accounts or keep printed backup codes.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Use a Password Manager with Secure Notes, If the platform allows, store backup keys or seed codes in a password manager that supports secure notes. This will give you a fallback option if you lose access to Google Authenticator
