Unlocking Google Cloud - Exploring Its Potential
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Google Cloud from other similar products?
Google Cloud offers a user-friendly environment for developers. It provides helpful tools like Cloud SDK, Cloud Shell, and Cloud Build, which make it easier to develop, test, and deploy applications. Additionally, Google Cloud provides ample documentation, tutorials, and resources to assist developers at every step of their journey.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Google Cloud is open to working with different technologies and supports popular frameworks like Kubernetes. This means that businesses can easily integrate their existing tools and technologies with Google Cloud, giving them more flexibility and options.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Google Cloud has fewer locations where its services are available compared to its competitors. These locations, called availability zones, are important for ensuring high availability and disaster recovery. Businesses with specific geographic needs may find it challenging to establish robust high availability and disaster recovery strategies using Google Cloud due to this limitation.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
My recommendation is take advantage of their free trial options or try conducting a smaller test project (proof-of-concept). This allows you to explore and evaluate how well Google Cloud suits your specific needs. You can test its performance, features, and see if it aligns with your requirements before committing to a full-scale deployment.

Best Cloud for Data-Related Workflows
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Google Cloud from other similar products?
In terms of data-related work, and especially for smaller teams, GCP is much easier to work with than its competitors. GCP provides everything needed for my role within itself, though it is flexible enough to allow us to integrate other platforms.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
In particular, Cloud Functions are much easier to deploy and orchestrate than, say, Lambda functions. BigQuery is a joy to work with and its cost is very transparent. GCP documentation is also plentiful and (more or less) easy to follow. Costs can get away from you, but in my experience GCP allows you to do a ton of valuable work at very little expense.
What do you dislike most about this product?
GCP's support is rather unresponsive at times. I am also disconcerted by Google's sharp willingness to deprecate products.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Despite its relatively slight market share, GCP is worth your time and consideration if your workflows are data-heavy. It is a much nicer platform than its competitors for these kinds of use cases.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
- Respectful
Cons
- Less Effective Service
- Less Caring
- Wastes Time
