What differentiates IBM Cognos Analytics from other similar products?

IBM Cognos Analytics seamlessly integrates with IBM Watson cognitive services and achieves high accuracy regarding the predictive analysis.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I find the IBM Cognos data preparation features and third-party integrations are more efficient than similar products in the market.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The service is a bit advanced for average users and citizen-developers like me and requires more learning.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It would be great to spend some time learning the service features and use cases via the IBM official product support forum.

What differentiates IBM Cognos Analytics from other similar products?

The toolset inside IBM Cognos includes data exploration tools that find various relationships within the data and suggests data visualizations automatically

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Contains high-level data exploration ability, dashboarding and storytelling, professional report authoring and automated data planning

What do you dislike most about this product?

Framework Manager often requires a standalone calculation to aggregate correctly. The only way around this is to build a data set

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The primary focus of IBM Cognos Analytics is in the area of Descriptive Analytics to help users see the information in their data through dashboards, professional reporting and self-service data exploration

What differentiates IBM Cognos Analytics from other similar products?

The platform is clever enough to build dashboards on-the-fly on the data presented eliminating the need to have reporting writing skills

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

We create pixel-perfect reports and control all properties, size of objects, and formatting options

What do you dislike most about this product?

A dashboard can contain data from multiple data modules. However to link charts, only data from the same module ca be linked. Data cannot be linked between data models

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

IBM Cognos Analytics will help you capture and share the true story of your data, helping you to grow your business
