Keyfactor having the access to CLaaS and not complete control for the customer.

What differentiates Keyfactor from other similar products?

The aaS model really is what stood out to me in the comparison to other vendors/products. We truly are running aaS and no longer have to deal with the headaches of downtime management and upgrading/patching servers when needed. They also have a wide variety of orchestrators for automation which we have utilized for various platforms needing certificate management. Our past product was on-premises and truly lacked a good reporting system, leaving us with thousands of certificates with no owner or contacts and no scanning tool. Keyfactor is anything but that and has allowed us to really understand our certificate environment and who owns what.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The breadth of automation is my favorite. With lifecycle timelines getting shorter and shorter each year, automation will no longer be recommended but required and Keyfactor has set us up to do that. In addition to the automation, the single plane of glass approach in the platform is nice, allowing us to manage our public certificates through Keyfactor, even if the actual certificates do not come from them.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The only dislike I would say regarding Keyfactor is that we had some issues getting a plugin setup to work with Keyfactor which caused some deadlines to be pushed back but their support and leadership were extremely helpful throughout the whole process in getting us connected with exactly who we needed to talk with.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Anyone who is looking for a hands-off solution that still allows for an extremely deep level of customization and efficiency should definitely consider Keyfactor. We no longer need to waste time upgrading and managing servers for the platform yet we stay up to date with great speeds and the latest features.
