LastPass: From spreadsheets to a secured dashboard

What differentiates LastPass Password Management from other similar products?

LastPass is more than just a password management solutions. With the Teams features, as administrator, I was able to add every new employees, share passwords related to their specific departments, all this via a secured interface. What we were previously doing via email, as which was at risk in case that email account was accessed or hacked by a 3rd party, LastPass simply eliminates this issue. Each employee also had his own private vault, for saving his passwords and sensitive information. Best of all, the digital records features, unique to LastPass, allowing storage of credentials like software licenses, and Wi-Fi specific passwords.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love the multi-factor authentication as well as the ability to enforce passwords parameters. Also, in case of an employee no longer forms part of the organization, their accesses can be removed immediately, and security policies applied. Sharing passwords in a secured cloud environment has never been so easy with LastPass.

What do you dislike most about this product?

3 Single Sign-on (SSO) apps are available as from the Business plan. It is sad that this is not included in the Teams plan, for their is no big disparity in the pricing.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If your organization needs to have optimal control on its IT users as well as the IT network, LastPass is highly recommended. If you are looking to modernize and optimize your business processes by moving from spreadsheets to a secured cloud system, LastPass is best suited. If you want to store and share password in a secured environment, LastPass is the perfect solutions.

Protect from social engineering attacks with MFA

What differentiates LastPass Password Management from other similar products?

While many password vaults provider provide adequate security with their Multifactor Authentication (MFA), this is generally just the SMS codes. With the social engineering attacks getting more and more sophisticated, even the SMS codes has its weakness. LastPass MFA takes authentication to a whole new level, by providing biometric (fingerprint & face), mobile device push notification and voice recognition. All this making LastPass an enterprise-grade business IT security provider.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love the adaptive authentication features, which protects from bots and repetitive malicious pattern: by adapting to users and scenarios, it provider an advanced layer of security. Pricing is really affordable also, for all the features provided. The geofencing policies are also great at validating IP and providing the next generation IT security.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Encrypted file storage should be increased for all plans. The 1GB limit gets exhausted very quickly. They should also offer additional methods for payment.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you want to protect your business from the latest and most sophisticated cyber threats, LastPass is the right choice in giving you the advanced level of security that you require.
