What differentiates MathWorks MATLAB from other similar products?

Range of features and capabilities.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It can do anything from running a basic code to simulating an entire physics algorithm.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It's very bulky and slow. Multiple bugs still present and lacks support for older hardware.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It's a very capable product but expect increase in response times and frequent bugs in simulation models.

What differentiates MathWorks MATLAB from other similar products?

Matlab is able to integrate with software tools I use for data analysis , including web APIs. This makes data retrieval and manipulation very convenient on Matlab. Matlab's integration with Programming languages like C++ and Python allows me take advantage of the mathematical computational strength of Matlab and combine it with the distinct strength of my programming language of choice for a better data manipulation experience.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The flexibility of Matlab's scripting language. It has allowed users like myself to create algorithms and custom functions, to automate faster data experimentation , prototyping and effectively test financial models.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Although Matlab provides provisions to import or process my data , I have had to write my own custom scripts or rely on add-ons to visualize or analyze data effectively. This is due to Matlab's inability to handle specific types of financial data formats. Also, Matlab relies too much on toolboxes to be able to access advanced functionalities

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It is important to understand and learn to use Matlab toolboxes effectively.
