What differentiates Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines from other similar products?

One of the best parts of Azure VMs is the integration with other Azure services. For instance, we often pair VMs with Azure’s Data Lake Storage to manage and analyze massive datasets. This combo creates a seamless data ecosystem where we can quickly pull data into the VM, process it, and push results back to storage—all within the Azure network. Other platforms don’t quite match this level of seamless internal connectivity.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The pre-configured images available on Azure VMs are lifesavers. We frequently use these for setting up new environments quickly, especially when testing different analytics tools or frameworks. It’s easy to spin up a Linux VM loaded with all the typical data science libraries or a Windows VM tailored for .NET development. This flexibility allows us to streamline setup, minimizing the usual lag time from configuration to deployment.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It is a solid choice, I have nothing major against the software

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Azure VMs have been invaluable in giving our team the scalability and customization we need, especially for experimenting with large-scale data models. I’d recommend Azure VMs to anyone in the analytics space who wants a flexible cloud environment without sacrificing security or connectivity.
