A Portal to Productivity
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?
Between document management, internal sites, and seamless integration with Microsoft 365, SharePoint has become our go-to for keeping departments connected. In a communications company like ours, where teams are juggling multiple projects, having a centralized hub for content, updates, and workflow automation is invaluable.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
One of the biggest wins for us has been setting up department-specific sites. Instead of scattered email chains and lost attachments, each team has its own space with controlled access, ensuring the right people see the right documents. For example, our network engineers use a SharePoint library to store troubleshooting guides and firmware updates, while the HR team has an internal portal for policies and onboarding. Everything stays organized, easy to find, and—most importantly—secure.
What do you dislike most about this product?
SharePoint's permissions system can be a headache. The flexibility is great, but the layers of access control sometimes lead to accidental misconfigurations.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
SharePoint has streamlined our workflows, improved document security, and made collaboration smoother across teams. IT doesn’t have to chase people down for the latest reports, and departments can manage their own content without relying on us for every little update. It’s also reduced our dependency on third-party cloud storage tools, consolidating everything within the Microsoft ecosystem.
