In terms of databases, Oracle is the best.

What differentiates Oracle Database from other similar products?

My impression is that Oracle Database is very dependable, performs well with huge databases, and requires very little upkeep once everything is set up. Additionally, Oracle database recovery is significantly simpler and easier.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The data from many of the crucial modules of our MLFF (Multi-Lane Free Flow) tolling solutions are stored in Oracle 12c databases. Oracle Database 12c is capable of managing varying workloads while sustaining throughput during peak periods. Although many other technologies are used in our solutions, Oracle Database is a crucial part of them. There are a lot of other features introduced in oracle 19c as well.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The cost of licensing is relatively high. Finding an Oracle support expert might be difficult at times.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I still think Oracle Database is the greatest RDBMS, and it should be used for OLTP applications and Adhoc requests. They are competent in some areas of data warehousing but not the best. With their Clusterware technology, which also makes the database highly accessible with services shifting to the live instance without much difficulty, Oracle is a superb database for scaling up.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Enables Productivity

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

This is the technology that offers comprehensive data solutions. It addresses every aspect of data management pertaining to performance, scalability, cloud administration, etc. You can use Oracle Database to make your application more responsive. I can manage all the data I receive from clients and other sources thanks to Oracle database. Data management, storage, and retrieval at any moment, the ability to process data in batches is the best feature.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The internal locking mechanism, latch, and data concurrency of Oracle could be improved. I've seen databases that function just fine with less ACTIVE user sessions. The performance of the database suffers correspondingly as the number of ACTIVE user sessions increases in the same database.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Oracle offers a scalable and reliable platform for business relational databases. Oracle is aware of stability; as long as you supply capable and reliable hardware, Oracle will continue to function. However, managing it is too difficult, and Oracle's license requirements make virtualization either difficult or expensive. Find another database platform if your application doesn't need it.

What differentiates Oracle Database from other similar products?

The manufacturer promotes the Oracle Database as a market-leading database that offers cutting-edge advancements, including machine learning to support autonomous data administration. It is a business database cloud service that is intended to accommodate a variety of deployment strategies, whether they are on-premises or in the cloud.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The database's ability to be installed both locally and in the cloud offers one of the greatest levels of flexibility. Oracle offers strong data security, backup, and recovery capabilities. It is also quite simple to configure. It even permits access to any external device, making it easier for apps to use an Oracle database to store data.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The majority of the time, Oracle standby databases are idle, with just log application occurring. You are only able to run the business SQL query on standby even with Oracle Active Data Guard setup. Oracle needs to find a way to make standby databases fully functional as a primary database as well.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Our company's main database server is Oracle Database. It is a requirement across the enterprise because it is the only way that our primary line of business application stores data. It offers a dependable and expandable relational database platform, but at a hefty cost with frustratingly rigid licensing terms.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
