What differentiates Oracle Database from other similar products?

Oracle supports all the functions expected of a "serious" server: a very complete database design language (PL / SQL) that allows to implement "active" designs, with triggers and stored procedures, with a fairly declarative referential integrity. powerful.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It allows the use of partitions to improve efficiency, replication and even certain versions support the administration of distributed databases. The server software can run on a multitude of operating systems. There is even a personal version for the latest Windows which it is a plus point for developers that we take the work home with us. Oracle is the most INTERNET-oriented database.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The newer versions have design flaws. The reason for so many failures was, apparently, the remodeling of the storage system due to the introduction of object-oriented extensions. Oracle's biggest drawback is perhaps its price. Even PersonalOracle licenses are excessively expensive, in my opinion. Another problem is the need for adjustments. A common mistake is to think that it is enough to install Oracle on a server and plug in the client applications directly. A misconfigured Oracle can be desperately slow, the cost of information is also high, and good books have only recently begun to appear on technical matters other than simple installa

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

This database for programming helps me on a day-to-day basis, allowing me to get a better performance when it comes to working. It adapts perfectly to SQL and non-SQL and makes the task to be done can be done on multiple supports, as well as the use of more innovative programming languages. Constantly updated and with a community of users that makes any doubt that may arise solved in a very short space of time. Databases par excellence for programmers and analysts that presents all the necessary tools for companies.
