What differentiates Paycom Performance Management from other similar products?
We needed a system where comp, goals, and feedback lived together. Paycom’s integration with payroll let us build performance review cycles that auto-linked to raise cycles. That level of connectivity helped remove manager guesswork and biased raises
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The performance journal tool is surprisingly effective. We trained managers to log weekly notes there. So when review season hits, they pull full context—not just memories from the last two weeks. It made feedback less emotional, more actionable
What do you dislike most about this product?
It’s not built for agile cycles. We work in sprints and project-based staffing, but Paycom’s cycles feel very quarterly or semi-annual
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you’re already using Paycom for payroll and comp, this ties in neatly. But don’t force it into a culture that thrives on casual feedback loops. Build those elsewhere. Use Paycom to formalize reviews tied to pay decisions

What differentiates Paycom Performance Management from other similar products?
At our agency, quarterly goal-setting is brutal — tied to campaign KPIs, not just personal growth. Paycom’s cascading goals and weighted scoring align well with that style of performance culture
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
We’ve built different sets for client-facing, tech, and strategy roles. The system forces managers to tie each rating to actual deliverables, which has helped reduce inflated reviews. Also, its post-review action plan workflow closes the loop better than most tools we’ve tried.
What do you dislike most about this product?
We often have team leads, client partners, and directors weighing in on the same person, and stitching that together manually gets messy. Also, the calibration tools feel basic — hard to detect scoring drift unless you export to Excel.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If your agency has scorecard-driven culture like ours, Paycom enforces standardisation better than Google Forms or ad hoc review docs. But pair it with a strong coaching culture. Otherwise, the feedback risks becoming too compliance-driven. Build templates based on campaign lifecycle

Instead of waiting for formal reviews, managers and employees can exchange feedback instantly. That means performance discussions aren’t just a once-a-year event—they happen as things unfold, which helps with engagement and development.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Customizing reports sometimes feels like wrestling with an outdated dashboard, and I wish the analytics were more visual and intuitive
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
