Easy to make your course how you envision your on-ground components would look online
What do you dislike most about this product?
If it behaves in a way it shouldn't, you have no one to ask besides co-workers. You need to be able to trouble shoot it alone.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Have fun and get creative with it. I recommend making templates before getting started for a clean look for users.

Sakai LMS is amazing!

What differentiates Sakai from other similar products?
The discussion board and forums tools work very well, and students are familiar with the view from going on forums of other websites. There are plenty of choices for fitting dates to release and reveal assignments to students, furthermore as when to close them out. The grading and equalization of a grade book are fairly simple and take a small amount of playing with to get used to. Once it’s set up, attaching assignments and the weight of these assignments becomes easier.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Sakai is an amazing tool for academics and students alike. The discussion boards and forums work all right and are simply accessible. The format of individual courses and assignments is simple to work out/understand and is organized well. Sakai provides a large number of choices to be able to set up release and end dates and assignments. Another wonderful feature is the simplistic setup for the grade book, creating it easy to return students’ assignments upon completion. The pliability for students to submit their work in a submission box or attach an individual, separate assignment is wonderful!
What do you dislike most about this product?
Although there’s plenty to love concerning Sakai, it does have its’ flaws. The format and style have been modified little, if at all. It is quite boring to check the same thing and not be updated with the times. While it’s simple to access every individual course, there could be a much better way to organize them so that they are all seen, rather than in a drop-down menu.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Sakai has been a consistent and useful gizmo for several years. If you are a fan of consistency and avoidance of change, then this can be the program for you. If you would like continual updates and things organized a bit otherwise visually speaking, then you might wish to try another program. I relish this for what it’s worth. I don’t have a choice in what program I use to run my courses; however, I even have no complaints about Sakai. They have been high-notch for me.
