What differentiates SAP Data Services from other similar products?

SAP data services is very useful while we want to data cleansing, data profiling and data integration. It is ETL tool so we can extract and load data from various source system to target system.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Easy to use tool, only low coding is required. It has possibilities to parralel processing and using nested schemas. Maintenance is moderate.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The cost of the application. The constraints which arise due to it's inability to perform with BigData.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The training hours that go into the learning of the app is bit high.

What differentiates SAP Data Services from other similar products?

SAP Data Services is differentiated with native data quality capabilities, native SAP integration, and robust metadata management for governance. It's a leader in high-scale enterprise ETL workloads with parallel processing and optimization. It's one of the few cloud-first ETL offerings that also has on-premise, hybrid, and cloud deployments, and hence it is highly flexible. Its deep SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and ERP system connectivity makes it the choice for SAP-led organizations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My most loved feature of SAP Data Services is the built-in data quality and governance features. Most ETL tools lack native data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, and validation to produce high-quality, accurate data before integration. And, with its native integration with SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and ERP systems, it's on my top list for SAP-driven companies. The scalability and optimization features for handling big enterprise workloads are just extra pluses for its reliability for intricate transformations of data.

What do you dislike most about this product?

SAP Data Services biggest disadvantage is how complex and heavy on learning curve it is, especially for inexperienced users. It can have a very outdated interface compared to the latest low-code ETL applications, and its real-time processing capabilities are fewer compared to native cloud solutions. Further, deploying and maintaining them eats up heavy resources, rendering it less responsive for fast-moving projects. With superior AI-enabled automation, natively cloud-capable execution, and improved debug capabilities, it would be much more efficient and easy to use.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

SAP Data Services is appropriate for SAP integration, data quality administration, and governance, but equally possesses a high learning curve. Optimize parallel processing for large workloads and invest in education. If there is a real-time cloud-native run or streaming requirement, then utilize complementary SAP solutions. Enterprise installations require to have special monitoring and infrastructure, so plan budgetarily.
