What differentiates SolarWinds Security Event Manager from other similar products?

A lot of it for me was the way I was a SolarWinds customer already. There is that familiarity, integration, etc. Also its more affordable than Splunk and offers a similar experience.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The proactive approach it takes to threats.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Like everything in Security, you do need someone to be dedicated to it to get the most out of it. Splitting duty in a smaller shop might not be the best approach. You might consider an MSP if you do not have the staff.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Download a trial, take the time to fully evaluate it, you will see the benefit.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

This functionality translates diverse log formats into a unified structure, enabling seamless event analysis across various sources. This not only simplifies log management but also empowers deeper insights and more efficient threat detection. Visual dashboards are great in the solution which provides clear overviews of security events and streamlines investigation processes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are not many Cons in my opinion but the Notifications and response time can be better in the tool.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

By carefully assessing your needs, conducting trials, and comparing options, you can make an decision about whether SolarWinds SEM is the right fit for your security posture.
