Developer friendly state of the art product!!!

What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?

The nearest competitor of Tableau i Microsoft Power BI. Also Qlik, SAP and IBM products also come close. Tableau provides more value in terms of better analytics apart from better community and support. Tableau offers wider range of data exploration and also better functionality.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The greatest strength of Tableau that I find very appealing is the way this product is designed to explore data in terms of ease of use and range of ways in order to discover new insights into ever increasing data.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Pricing is something that pinches the common user despite the tremndous value Tableau brings. I feel Tableau should come with more flexible subscription models that suit a wide range of customers.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you want to go with the industry standard then go with Tableau. Business intelligence and analytics flourishes with unearthing of tremendous insights that lay hidden in the humungous data we generate on a prolonged basis.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Reliable
  • Enables Productivity
  • Respectful

Insights with Tableau

Likeliness to Recommend

What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?

We chose Tableau due to it's flexibility. We looked at other tools, and those catered towards operations people who wanted an easy tool to manage. Fortunately our team is more on the tech savvy side, so we opt'd to go with Tableau due to its flexibility and scaleability.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Endlessly customizable. You can create almost anything you want as long as you're willing to put in the effort to learn the tool. I highly recommend taking a course on Tableau if you're dedicated. Lots of nuances you wouldn't pick up unless you started to do some Googling when you come across something you haven't built before.

What do you dislike most about this product?

We were promised that Tableau could integrate directly with Salesforce data. That was a lie (at least for us). It took forever to pull record data into Tableau, so we had to scramble and start to look at ETL and data warehouse solutions to get the data from Salesforce into the data warehouse then into Tableau. It was a mess to get this stood up, but in the end we are very happy with what we can achieve in Tableau.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

100% pilot it before buying. We were promised it could integrate directly with Salesforce data. That did not pan out well for us so we had to buy additional tools like an ETL and Data Warehouse to make this work.

Pros

  • Performance Enhancing
  • Reliable
  • Enables Productivity
  • Effective Service
