What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?

Excel and Google Sheets are helpful, but they can't compare to Tableau when it comes to data visualisation. Also, the learning curve for making complicated visualisations is higher for them.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I've found that Tableau's data visualisation features have greatly facilitated my work. Thanks to its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, I can easily build dynamic dashboards and reports. What do you dislike most about this product?

Tableau Desktop is an application that has been in use for many years and has a long history of development. Another area that I would like to see improved was the design. A painter that specializes in formatting, for example, would be helpful when consolidating reports and needing to apply a formatting theme to each part. If it had the ability to be modified, the parameter values would be correct. Providing more versatility in how parameters are used in Tableau will enable users to do much more with the tool and express their analysis more effectively.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Tableau specializes in performing market research in specific areas. Short, straightforward reports. One area that is not suitable is interactive data visualization in large volumes. I see companies trying this too often, and it's not necessarily the most convenient way to use Tableau. Things like analyzing large amounts of data perform poorly, while ARC GIS and SHP files are more advanced in this regard, it is possible to use parts of this data in Tableau that exceed traditional functionality. In these cases, I always recommend the communities and Q&A forums.

What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?

Tableau desktop application can perform slowly when we are dealing with large data set, especially when dragging and dropping on switching from one worksheet to another and it can reduce the development speed so to avoid this use a small data set for development. The one advantage about this software is that it has good verity of filter support that we can use data and it can be drilled down slice and diced, supports column level sorting. It provides multiple features, like different charts, graphs and tables and mathematical and statistical functions for analysis.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The one disadvantage about this platform is that it create very problems when we are using extracted data source the publishing to server and importing to desktop works really slow, since it is transferring the extracted data along with the tableau logic, Editing the table columns are quit tricky that it is not flexible as compared to its competitors.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I have been using different visualization tool but tableau is very easy tool to use. Some of the good feature that I most like about this software is that it’s switching or swapping functionalities of the views is awesome. I highly recommend Tableau as a business platform for both report designers and users because it provides unmatched flexibility in developing and using data sets in multiple ways.
