A true game changer for IT security
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates ThreatLocker from other similar products?
There are other application whitelisting vendors, but what truly separates Threatlocker is the support they provide - it's truly top notch.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Besides all the additional security the platform provides, the unified audit is fantastic. I'm constantly using it to discover which user is responsible for accidentally moving or deleting files and/or folders from a server share.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Periodically you'll have a case where an operating system file may get blocked, but support always acts quickly to resolve the issue on the back end. Additionally, it will require some babysitting for sure, especially if your environment consists of applications that aren't part of their "Built-in" library. That means you will periodically have to manually catalog files associated with the application as it changes over time..
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Trial it! See if it makes sense in your environment. I'm so glad I have it on all my customers machines. Helps me sleep better at night.

A must have in today's world!

What differentiates ThreatLocker from other similar products?
The vendor interactions from sales to support are always great and they are all willing to help. Support always goes above and beyond to help resolve issues or implement changes.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It takes a different approach to protecting systems by not allowing anything that hasn't been trusted to not execute. So, instead of letting something run and watching for malicious behavior, it never runs to begin with. It also keeps end users from installing applications on business computers that they shouldn't be.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It is a workflow change for most users including the IT Team. If you are used to (and most people are) installing and running whatever you want, it takes a while to get used to ThreatLocker and going through the whitelisting process. Some folks might get frustrated at first, but they will get used to it. Initial customization can take a bit especially if you have a lot of clients you are using it with, but ThreatLocker has team members to help you through the process.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Depending on your org size, have a champion available daily to work with the tool and the Sales/Solutions Engineers to do the initial configuration and implementation. It does need care and feeding on a regular basis to keep up with changes, especially if you are managing more than one client with it. It does settle down and the daily requirements will become less. The Cyber Hero Management Service is great to use as well.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Trustworthy
- Unique Features
- Efficient Service
