What differentiates Time Matters from other similar products?

Time Matters stands out from other legal practice management tools due to its deep customization capabilities, on-premises deployment option, and strong integration with LexisNexis products. It’s particularly suited for mid-to-large law firms that need advanced workflow automation, localized data control, and complex calendaring features. While many modern competitors focus on ease of use for smaller firms, Time Matters offers the flexibility and scalability needed for more intricate practice requirements.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Time Matters stands out for its deep customization and advanced workflow automation, making it ideal for mid-to-large law firms with complex needs. Its on-premises deployment offers greater control over data, while seamless integration with LexisNexis products enhances research and case management. Unlike many modern tools focused on simplicity, Time Matters prioritizes flexibility and scalability.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The biggest drawback of Time Matters is its steep learning curve due to its complexity and depth of customization. It can be overwhelming for new users or firms without dedicated IT support. Additionally, as an on-premises solution, it lacks the convenience and accessibility of modern cloud-based platforms, and updates or maintenance can be more resource-intensive.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you're considering Time Matters, here are a few key recommendations: This product is best suited for mid-to-large firms with complex workflows and a need for deep customization. Smaller firms may find it overly complex. Be prepared to invest time in user training. Its powerful features come with a learning curve, so proper onboarding is crucial. What differentiates Time Matters from other similar products?

Case administration activities, such as documenting cases, client and opposing counsel exchanges, and court orders, are adequately handled by Time Matters also, my creative mind requires that everything be color labeled with clear typography. I'm expecting version 16 will remedy the lack of choices for changing the font size or color in TM.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

All of the information is readily available. Additionally, it offers a schedule and email function that will sync with your Outlook calendar and provide you fast access to calendar events to attach to your files.

What do you dislike most about this product?

TM had a built-in accounting application in version 12 that let you handle everything in one place, but now you have to buy a different tool, which is frustrating.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Although there are many other choices, TM is by far the finest I have ever used. This software functions for offices with 1 to 100 employees. It is made for legal work, thus I have no idea how it would function in any other occupations.

Pros

  • Altruistic
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity
