What differentiates Unitrends Backup Software from other similar products?

Excellent data recovery system, which prevents disasters from occurring in your organization that in the long run act in a very negative way for your business venture. This recovery is totally automatic and safe, always weekly or monthly, it is a system without failures that is worth purchasing for your organization.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Its design is very simple, with the options required for anyone. All business information is very well protected with this service platform, in addition to the fact that you do not need to be an expert for its configuration and its action is immediate when it comes to protecting your data.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I have nothing bad to say about this wonderful product, what it has done is to help us in such a way that the company achieves more entrepreneurship in a short time and with it good business achievements.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you want to improve and solve disaster recovery in your company, you should try this software, it will help you remarkably. Technical support is according to the needs of your organization. There is no better software than this.

What differentiates Unitrends Backup Software from other similar products?

Very reliable. Low network bandwidth. Deduplication works great. Works great for SQL backups and restores. Protects against Ransomware.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It alleviates the burden of me constantly checking backups because I know they're done right. I recently had to restore from a backup, and it was a fairly simple process. No more changing out tapes and then packing up to send off-site, no more rotating media, no need to come into the office to do system maintenance.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The user interface could be a little more user-friendly. Like anything, once you learn it, it becomes pretty easy, but just small things like restoring a backup job to another server (SQL in this case) the restore kept saying there were no other servers available to restore the SQL, but that just is because it defaulted to the first server in the list, hitting "retry" then let me select from a list, which if you did not know you had to do that, you could easily become frustrated. The product also needs to warn you more about overwriting machines when restoring.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Make sure you work closely with the implementation team during your setup. We had everything deployed and working within a week, but then had to go back and redo half of our servers and change them to file-type backups from the image type. Make sure you explain to them what type of files and servers you are backing up and the type of disks (dynamic, etc.) We had a big file server that took forever to backup because it was a file server with tons of files on it that did not work well with the image style backup. Once we changed it out to a file-level backup it worked fine and backed up quickly with no problems.

Integration With Storage Arrays Integrates with APIs from major storage vendors (NetApp, HP, Dell EMC) to leverage capabilities in these arrays such as data snapshots and replication.

Physical Backup for Multiple Platforms Backs up data and system info for non-virtualized systems. Primarily Windows and Linux servers but also, potentially, AIX, Unix and others.
