It is not an out-of-the-box install-and-use solution like some online store services. You need to configure everything, additional applications can be cheaper, PHP version update is causing problems from time to time. The interface is easy to use, but definitely could be improved.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It fits like a glove to all kinds of online stores, regardless of their market niche or products, it is regularly updated to keep up with cybersecurity. But the Woocommerce plugin does not include elements such as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate or backup tools, to make backups. As for payment security, Woocommerce is perfectly complemented by secure gateways and ewallets, such as Stripe, PayPal, WePay or Payza. It also has several forums specialized in this platform.

It is not an out-of-the-box install and use solution, To get a good store, you must also set up all the other parts of wordpress, like choosing a good wordpress theme. It would be great if you could easily sync with other platforms like Etsy, without using a third party app. The output is too complex unless you use an add-on to remove fields when not needed. More out-of-the-box options would be nice within the base software.

The WooCommerce Hooks were definitely a game changer for us as in every business we needed unique functionalities and the fact that whenever we needed to perform a specific action at a specific point there was already a hook we could use to do so really helped us succeed with what we delivered to our customers.

What do you dislike most about this product?

WooCommerce is not easy to learn, there are hundreds of options, and their administration user interface is not pretty for inexpert WordPress professionals but the value it provides totally overcomes that part.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are on a budget and need a solution to create a free online store WooCommerce is the tool for you, but keep in mind that mild technical knowledge and lots of customization will be required for advanced technical tasks.
