What differentiates Smartsheet from other similar products?

Smartsheet has been the software that changed completely how we manage our strategic initiatives, providing full visibility into different projects and their performances to know where we're falling behind and which resources need to be allocated where. The many benefits that Smartsheet gives us are great, and we can see everything in one place, updates from different teams and track different performances, the way it's structured makes it possible to collaborate between teams and have better priorities, letting me focus on strategy instead of focusing on different processes that take a lot of time.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like that Smartsheet allows me to track multiple projects in one single place, it's nice as a portfolio management tool since we can combine sales campaigns and business initiatives in it, and when it comes to the actual interface, I like that it has a user-friendly view with all the data that's entirely organized for more efficient management of projects and tasks. The reports are also a great addition to the software because I can easily filter data and know which areas of certain projects need improving, and this can also be useful for creating better tasks lists for team members.

What do you dislike most about this product?

With Smartsheet, what I really don't like is the fact that customization can take a lot of time to do, setting up automation and dashboards can be difficult and the wide range of options for creating projects can be overwhelming. I also don't like the fact that some of the features to analyze data from other databases such as Google Forms are only available in the more expensive pricing plans, they offer great features but these plans are only really beneficial if your team is very large. Additionally, when it comes to customizing the dashboards, I would like to see more visual customization options to make the experience smoother.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For people that are considering implementing Smartsheet into their workplace, the best way to start is with the built-in templates that the program offers, since it's easy to get familiar with it through the templates that are easy to use and quickly to implement. The other advice is to customize your alerts and notifications to avoid receiving notifications for every little thing, but rather to only focus on your area of work and keep yourself updated on your most important matters.
