Sticky Notes, Streamlined: The HR Case for Trello.

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Trello from other similar products?

Trello doesn’t try to be everything—it just gives you a solid visual system to map your chaos. And for a department like ours that juggles onboarding, engagement campaigns, hiring workflows, and policy updates? That simplicity is exactly the appeal.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What makes Trello click for us is the sheer flexibility it offers without turning into a bloated mess. Labels, checklists, deadlines, and power-ups like calendar views and Slack integrations give us just enough muscle without making it a chore to manage. Plus, the fact that it plays well with other tools (Google Drive, Jira, even HRIS exports) means we’re not reinventing the wheel—we’re just organizing it better.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It’s easy to accidentally make a board public or forget who has editing rights.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you’re in HR and your department isn’t already using Trello for workflows, you’re probably overcomplicating things. It’s not fancy, but it’s reliable—and in HR, where clarity and timing matter so much, that’s gold. Start small, get one board right, and you’ll find new ways to use it every month.
