What differentiates Workday Human Capital Management from other similar products?

You can set up simple hr tools in a few weeks. Workday is different because it is a core system for your whole business, and the implementation is a very long and serious project.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Workday has a very clear methodology for implementation, and they give you a lot of support.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Our implementation took nine months and we needed a team of full-time people and expensive consultants to do it. It was much more work than we expected.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do not think you can do this as a small side project. It requires a major commitment from your whole company.

My favorite aspect of Workday Human Capital Management is its unified, real-time reporting and analytics. The ability to access up-to-date workforce data across HR, finance, and operations in one place is incredibly powerful. As a Scrum Master, this transparency helps align team structures, track workforce trends, and support data-driven decision-making without relying on multiple disconnected systems. It empowers both leadership and teams to be more proactive and strategic.

What do you dislike most about this product?

What I dislike most about Workday Human Capital Management is that it can feel somewhat rigid when it comes to supporting truly agile team structures. While it excels in traditional organizational hierarchies, it lacks native features to easily manage matrixed or cross-functional teams common in agile environments. This limits flexibility in tracking collaboration, sprint-based performance, and dynamic team assignments, which are critical for agile ways of working.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you’re considering Workday Human Capital Management, I’d recommend assessing how well your organization’s structure and workflows align with its strengths.
